Using Medicaid Datasets to Measure Tobacco Use: A Review

Given increased rates of tobacco use in the Medicaid population, State and Territorial Health Agencies must be able to quantify tobacco users to inform prevention strategies and better tailor public health and Medicaid programs and policies. This blog explores how states can use Medicaid data to quantify tobacco use within this population, identify related best practices, and make recommendations for scaling.
