States Struggle to Ensure Equal Access to Behavioral Health Services Amid Mental Health Crisis

The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) requires insurers to cover mental health and substance use disorder services; however, enforcing the law has proven challenging.
