Racially Minoritized Patients Can Benefit from Racially Concordant Providers but Struggle to Find Them

Patients of color tend to fare better when they receive care from diverse providers, but those most affected by health inequities are underrepresented in the provider workforce. This brief reviews a literature scan on racial and ethnic patient-provider relationships to highlight the potential effects of a less diverse healthcare workforce.
