Grace Periods: A Good Start But Not Sufficient

This commentary explains insurers’ moves to extend coverage grace periods during the COVID-19 crisis and says they are a good way to buy some time for federal and state policymakers to find solutions but provide a false sense of security toward individuals’ and employers’ current coverage and ability to pay premiums.
