Enhanced PTCs Help Older Adults and Those in High-Premium States Afford Coverage

Enhanced premium tax credits (PTCs) substantially increased subsidies available to buy insurance in the ACA Marketplace and extended eligibility for PTCs to people with incomes above 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL). This analysis examines the expected distribution of enhanced PTCs among people with incomes over 400 percent of FPL by age, income, and state.
