Training Opportunities

ASTHO Leadership Institute

The ASTHO Leadership Institute is a year-long, cohort-based, leadership development opportunity for state and territorial health officials at every stage of their tenure. This flagship program works with experts in executive leadership development, nationally recognized public health leaders, and ASTHO alumni to offer a customized learning program for governmental public health leaders.

Medicaid Leadership Institute

The Medicaid Leadership Institute is a unique, 10-month fellowship opportunity for Medicaid directors and their key staff from states across the political spectrum to enhance the skills and expertise necessary to successfully lead and improve their programs and address health equity in an ever-changing policy environment.

Medicaid Pathways Program

The Medicaid Pathways Program is designed to bolster the leadership capacity of senior Medicaid leaders, particularly those with lived experience with Medicaid. This nine-month leadership training program is designed for individuals who are new to Medicaid leadership roles and/or are interested in advancing to a more senior role in the future.

Culture of Health Leaders Program

The Culture of Health Leaders Program is a three-year long national leadership program for people working in every field and profession who want to use their influence to advance health and equity. Changemakers will hone high-level leadership skills, continue working in their communities to apply knowledge in real-time, receive top-tier professional coaching from national leaders, and more.

More information: There will be no 2022 cohort. Future opportunities for the Culture of Health Leadership Institute will be posted through the National Collaborative for Health Equity mailing list.

The Culture of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing

Practitioners who are advancing racial and health equity are invited to apply to this 18-month leadership experience that connects participants with a national community of like-minded people to be nurtured in this work, support and serve as a resource to others, and gain tools and resources to hold public officials and private sector leaders more accountable for real progress.

 

More information: The 2022 cohort application closed December 1, 2021. Applicants are invited to participate in virtual interviews and will be notified in late February.

RWJF Health Policy Fellows

RWJF Health Policy Fellows program is a nonpartisan fellowship that has offered exclusive, hands-on policy experience in the nation’s capital for over 40 years. Working together with key players in federal health policy, more than 270 fellow have participated in the policy process at the federal level and used that leadership experience to improve health, healthcare, and health policy across the nation.

Upcoming: The 2023-24 Call for Applications (CFA) will open in early September 2022 and close in early November.
